FAQ

What is a VDS, and what is it used for?

A Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS) is a hosting solution where the server’s resources—such as CPU, RAM, and storage—are dedicated entirely to a single user rather than shared among multiple clients. This setup ensures consistent performance, greater control over the system configuration, and the ability to customize the environment to meet specific needs. With a VDS, you get root or administrative access, which means you can install and manage software, set security rules, and configure the server exactly as you require.

VDS hosting is commonly used for running business-critical services, hosting multiple websites or online stores, and deploying complex applications that demand guaranteed resources and minimal downtime. It is also suitable for development and testing environments, where a secure, isolated platform is essential for experimenting with different software stacks. By providing a dedicated share of server resources and strong network connectivity, a VDS offers an optimal balance of performance, flexibility, and reliability for various online projects.

Which operating systems can be installed on the server, and are licenses included in the price?

You can choose from a broad selection of operating systems, including modern versions of Windows Server (such as Windows Server 2019 Standard and Windows Server 2022 Standard) and a variety of Linux distributions:

  • Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS (Noble Numbat)
  • Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish)
  • Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa)
  • Debian 12 (Bookworm)
  • Debian 11 (Bullseye)
  • Oracle Linux 9
  • Fedora 40
  • Fedora 39
  • Fedora 37
  • Rocky Linux 9
  • Rocky Linux 8
  • AlmaLinux 9
  • AlmaLinux 8
  • openSUSE Leap 15
  • CentOS Stream 9
  • CentOS 7

Licenses for any software that requires licensing are not included in our service costs and must be purchased separately. The user is fully responsible for ensuring the legal use of all software installed on the server.

Can I install an OS from my own ISO image?

Yes, that is possible, but you will need to submit a request to our support team to enable this feature. We promise it won’t take much time. Once you have this capability activated, you can install an OS from your own ISO images on all of your servers.

What about the network? Do I really get a dedicated bandwidth?

Yes, we reserve bandwidth for each server that has a dedicated channel. For servers with traffic limitations, the channel may be shared among several clients, but in any case, we ensure there is no congestion. For servers with paid dedicated bandwidth, you can rely on the full channel capacity you’ve purchased. This is possible because we manage our own network without relying on intermediaries. You can verify our uplinks and make your own conclusions. Our ASNs are 150345 for the Asia-Pacific region and 212147 in Europe.

My mail server deployed on your VDS isn’t working. Why?

According to a 5.4 section of our Terms & Conditions, the ports required for mail functionality are blocked by default. They can be unlocked only after completing additional KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures, primarily intended for business clients. However, in certain cases, individuals can also request these ports to be unlocked. Please contact our technical support team for further instructions. We reserve the right to refuse mail port unlocking if there are reasonable grounds for suspicion.

Do you provide an IPv6 address? Can I purchase additional addresses?

Yes, we provide a /64 IPv6 subnet by default. If you need more IPv4 or IPv6 addresses, you can request them as a separate service through our technical support team.

What hardware is used to provide the service?

Our most basic servers in the Bronze tier are deployed on Supermicro and Dell hardware with single-processor systems based on modern Intel E-series CPUs (for example, Dell PowerEdge 350). The other tiers run on Dell servers with multiprocessor Intel Scalable Silver and Gold CPUs, as well as the latest AMD processors. In every case, each server is equipped with ECC RAM, hardware RAID controllers, and datacenter- or enterprise-grade SSD or NVMe drives. Our network infrastructure is built on Cisco and Arista switches and Juniper routers.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept card payments (via Stripe), bank transfers, and cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrency payments become available either after your first payment by card/bank or once you complete our KYC process.

Can you explain the pricing? I see other offers for virtual servers at just a couple of euros. Why are yours more expensive?

We provide dedicated server resources. For example, if the main physical server has a 64-core CPU, it will never host more than 31 VDS instances with 2 CPU cores each (2×31=62, with the remaining 2 cores reserved for the hypervisor). The same logic applies to RAM: the total RAM allocated to clients will never exceed the actual physical server’s capacity. This justifies our pricing, because at any moment you can access the full resources of your VDS — unlike cheaper plans where many virtual servers could be sharing a single physical core.

Do you support installing control panels like cPanel, DirectAdmin, or ISPmanager?

No, we focus on experienced users who can either manage the server without a panel or know how to install their preferred control panel.

How are backups organized?

We provide two backup slots that you can configure for daily or weekly backups. We also replicate your backups to a data center in another country to increase reliability. Please note that we do not automatically back up your servers, so in the event of any emergency or critical situation, you can only rely on the backups you have created yourself.

Is snapshot functionality available?

Not yet, but it will be coming soon.

Can I migrate a server from another provider, and will you assist with the transfer?

Yes, absolutely. After purchasing a server with the desired configuration, ask our support team for help with migration, and we’ll handle it as quickly as possible.

Do you offer DDoS protection?

Yes, we provide basic protection against attacks up to 40 Gbps at layers L3–L4. If you need more advanced protection or L7 filtering, we can arrange that through our support team.

I need a BGP session to announce my own addresses. Can you provide this?

Yes, we do provide BGP sessions. In addition, we can:

  • Set up separate sessions with other transit providers available at your location
  • Connect a port at traffic exchange points (please check with our support team; around 20 IXs are available)
  • Ensure connectivity between your servers in different locations

What level of service do you guarantee?

We guarantee an SLA of 99.999%.
